Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Changsha → Jishou → Fenghuang Ancient Town
Morning – Depart Changsha for Jishou (approx. 5.5 hours by coach).
Afternoon – Fenghuang Sightseeing
Shuttle bus & admissions to key sites:
Tuojiang River Night Cruise: Glide past stilted wooden houses dating back over a century.
Wanshou Palace: Explore this expansive complex renowned for its exquisite carvings and unique architectural design.
Former Residence of Shen Congwen: Visit the home of one of China’s most celebrated modern authors.
Hongqiao (Wind‑and‑Rain) Bridge: Admire the classic three‑arch design, a masterpiece of Tujia architecture.
Evening – Stroll through the lantern‑lit streets of Fenghuang Ancient Town, soaking in its magical nightscape.

Day 2: Jishou → Zhangjiajie (3.5 hours)
Morning – Furong Town
Transfer to Furong Town by eco‑car. Perched on a cliff above a waterfall, this 2,000‑year‑old Tujia settlement is famed as the “million‑year‑old town hanging on a waterfall.”
You River Cruise: Board a sightseeing boat to admire Diaojiaolou (stilted houses) clinging to the cliffside.
Afternoon – Junsheng Painting Academy: Discover the “Sandstone Painting Art Palace,” showcasing intricate sandstone artworks.
Evening – Enjoy the Tianmen Fox Show (May–November). If the fox show is unavailable, you will attend the Xiangxi Folk Show instead (subject to scheduling).

Day 3: Zhangjiajie → Tianmen Mountain National Park
All Day – Transportation: One‑way cable car, one‑way escalator, express cable car, and eco‑car included.
Tianmen Cave (Gateway to Heaven): Marvel at the world’s highest natural arch—131 m tall, 57 m wide, and 60 m deep.
Panlongya Glass Plank Road: Walk the third glass skywalk in Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area, earning its reputation as the “Oriental Skywalk” (shoe covers provided).
